 Savana Barzee

A graduate from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, Savana has a degree in Equine Training & Management.  With 11 years in the horse industry she has worked and trained horses in many disciplines and areas of the country including:

  • Hunter Farms (Princeton, New Jersey) A Hunter/Jumper barn that trains horses that have competed in the Olympic games, Nations cup team, and represented the US Equestrian Team in Rome, Dublin, Madrid, and Calgary.   
  • Rockin B Riding (Anchorage, Alaska) A summer day camp and lesson program for youth and younger children. 
  • Rock Creek Reining (Idaho Falls, Idaho) An accomplished reining horse trainer who specializes in futurity & derby horses, and also instructs a selected number of non-pro riders. 

These are just a few of Savana’s highlights throughout the years. She has also spent a number of days throughout the years, in riding clinics given by Cameron Meissner (reining trainer), Bill Cameron (reining & all around trainer), Noel Skinner (Reining), Nancy Cahill (Western Pleasure & Hunter Under Saddle), & Lisa Gardner (all around show trainer). 

 

Savana thoroughly enjoys riding and teaching young riders, and training horses for youth riders.  She has always been involved with 4-H and other riding clubs.  Savana is a certified Equine/Canine Massage Therapist & is CPR/ 1st Aid Certified.  Savana loves animals, spending time outside, and loves to show. In the past she, and her few horses, have won many titles at open horse shows and fairs.  Some of them include: Alaska Western Reserve Champion, All-Around Jr. Horse Champion, English Horse Champion, Multiple 1st place for Halter, and multiple equitation ribbons and awards.  She looks forward to this summer, and the many shows that are planned!

And Looks forward to becoming a member of EIPHC & EIQHA, The eastern Idaho paint and quarter horse clubs, shortly

Shayla Hunter 

Shayla, was born and raised here in Southeast Idaho.  Growing up she always had horses in her life.  She remembers on a few occassions where her mom would bring her horse to school and Shayla would ride home.

Shayla has also graduated from Northwest College with a degree in equine training and managment, and is a certified equine and canine massage therapist.  In her free time she loves to compete in edurance races and go for trail rides.  Shayla is excellent with children, as she has a couple younger sisters who enjoy riding as well. 

Shayla will be helping out with camps and group activities this summer.  She will also be competing at a few shows this summer.       

 

Assistant Instructor

Nathan Barzee

Nathan, also a graduate from Northwest College.  He obtained a business degree while he was participating in varsity wrestling.  While at school he met Savana, and were married a few months later.  Nathan was never really into the horse thing before he met Savana, but now he really enjoys it.  For Nathan, horses, are more so a hobby but is always interested how horses can help teach a rider so many life skills.

Nathan loves interacting and meeting new people and is now currently furthering his education at BYU-I in the Recreation Management Program with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation.  He is also a Certified Nursing Assistant and is 1st Aid/CPR certified.

 Nathan will be helping out this summer at shows, doing games and such at camp and group nights, helping the special need riders, and doing behind the sence business stuff.
